To begin the period, we reviewed/discussed the new content from T 6.1 ... working with formulas involving decimals.  We finished they period working on guided practice and a quick quiz covering T 6.2.

We spent the double period working on various problems sets involving surface area and volume ... pyramids and cones, spheres, and density.

HW for Thursday - complete pages 3 and 4 of the BLUE Density packet that was distributed in class today.  These sheets must be completed and returned to Mr. Sondgeroth before you can work at the construction site tomorrow.

HW for Friday - In class today, you were given a GREEN worksheet packet that details the types of problems that you might see on your quiz on Friday.  Though this packet WILL NOT BE GRADED, its completion will likely effect your performance on Friday's quiz.  I will spend several minutes in class on Friday before we begin the quiz to answer questions that you might have regarding this worksheet packet.

We continued our discussion of Target 10, focusing on "shortcuts" for proving two triangles are similar.  Today, we discussed the AA~ Postulate.

Some students were unsure of how to use a protractor to measure an angle in degrees.  Watch this video for a refresher ...

For a warm-up, we looked at different ways (using transformations OR algebra) to prove various angle relationships.  We spent the first part of the period reviewing T 8A - Pt 3, focusing on the angles formed when parallel lines are cut by a transversal.  During the second part of the period, we spent more time talking about proofs, focusing on the use of two-column proofs to prove parallel / angle relationships.

HW for Wednesday - We distributed the BLUE T 8A Pt 4 - Parallel Proofs in class today.  On page two of this packet, please complete the bottom two problems on this page (to the best of your ability).

We spent the both periods discussing Geometry content.  First we covered the angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal and the relationship between these angles when the lines are parallel.  Then we discussed the different ways to classify a triangle and various relationships between the angles of a triangle.
